So, this time, I challenge myself to start a new draft and complete it to become a book. But I need to be consistent. In fact, deadlines are necessary to motivate yourself to progress, true? So, I threw myself into KLIP (Professional Mothers Literacy Class).
It had been a while since I had been active in the Professional Mothers Community activities. Initially, I wanted to leave. However, I felt a sense of regret, or rather, reluctance, to follow the membership exit procedures.
Then, suddenly, information about KLIP registration opened. "That sounds interesting, huh? Why not give it a try?" I thought. After all, the 300-word limit a day is not that hard to achieve. The important thing is that it trains me to write consistently every day.
Starting from January 30th, 2026, until the end of November 2026, KLIP members are required to submit a minimum of 10 articles per month and 40 articles per semester to pass this class. The challenge is consistency over a long period of time. Almost a year, my friends!
I hope that by participating in KLIP this year, I will be able to complete a piece of writing, a memoir about my childhood with my family and friends in the village. My husband says my childhood stories are like the adventures of Burlian and Pukat in Tere Liye's Seri Anak-Anak Mamak. Ah, my husband may be exaggerating! I never fought any villains.
But why write about childhood?
People say that writers should write what they master. What topic do I master more than my own memory of childhood? I think none.
My inspiration is Roald Dahl's "Boy: Tales of Childhood", a simple yet entertaining account of the author's life. Have you read it?
At last, I hope to finish this book at the end of this year. Are you interested in being on the waiting list for the first prints? And what do you think would be a suitable title for this work? Let me know in the comments.
